Nutrient Audit
Crop Rotation Nutrient Audit
About
This calculator provides a platform to develop as simple nutrient budget from removal in produce and total nutrient input from external sources, over a sequence of 5 crops.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
General
White
cells can be edited or changed.
Produce Name
Select the type of produce removed from the drop-down menu highlighted when you click on the appropriate cell in this row.
Produce Removed
Input the quantity of produce removed. For grain crops in tonnes/ha, annual horti crops tonnes of fresh weight per hectare and meat in tonnes of live weight gain per hectare.
Stubble Removed
Input the quantity of crop residue removed in addition to produce in tonnes per hectare.
Nutrient Applied
In
the N, P, K, S sections enter the total rate of
nutrient
applied for each crop. This may include nutrients from fetiliser, recycle biosolids etc. For pulse crops enter the rate of N that gives a 0 balance for the crop to account for legume N fixed.
Output
Balances of each nutrient for each crop and the total for the 5 crop sequence are displayed. Negative balance for each crop and total sequence are highlighted in red.
